Unemployment Benefit Calculator: Eligibility and Payments
Estimate unemployment benefit eligibility, payment duration, gross and net amounts using 2026 figures, plus application deadlines and late filing reductions.
Unemployment Benefit Calculator
Each month is treated as 30 days. Enter earnings subject to insurance contributions from your service record, rather than take-home pay.
Contribution days and the final 120-day answer are estimated from the dates. If the termination date is blank, today is used.
Missing contribution days alone do not break this requirement if the employment contract continued.

Unemployment Benefit Calculator
What does this tool show?
It calculates daily and monthly gross benefits, stamp tax, monthly net payments, and total net benefits from contribution-based gross earnings in the last four months. It shows eligibility and payment duration based on contribution days and the reason for leaving. Entering a termination date calculates the application deadline; adding an application date calculates the reduction for late filing.
Enter one amount if earnings were the same in all four months; otherwise, enter each month separately. Each month is treated as 30 days. Actual daily earnings calculations for months with missing days fall outside this simplified model. Use contribution-based earnings from your service statement rather than net salary. The tool uses the minimum wage and stamp rate for the current year and applicable payroll period; it does not calculate definitive payments for past years.
Eligibility conditions
Generally, under Articles 50 and 51 of Law No. 4447:
- You must have been under an employment contract for the last 120 days before termination. If the contract continues, missing contribution days alone do not invalidate this condition.
- You must have at least 600 days of unemployment insurance contributions in the last three years.
- The reason for leaving must qualify.
- You must apply within 30 days of termination. Except in cases of force majeure, days of delay are deducted from the total duration.
In this tool, exit codes 04, 05, 15, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 27, and 28 are treated as qualifying. Ordinary resignation (03), disciplinary board dismissal (26), mutual termination, and employer termination for an employee's breach of morality/good faith are treated as non-qualifying. Probation (01/02) and other reasons (22) do not receive a definitive rejection; İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency) assesses them. Answering “I don't know” to the last 120 days question does not prevent calculation; eligibility remains uncertain.
Duration table
Contribution days in the last 3 years | Benefit duration before late-filing deductions |
|---|---|
Fewer than 600 days | No entitlement |
600–899 | 180 days |
900–1079 | 240 days |
1080 and above | 300 days |
Other eligibility conditions must also be met. Late applications reduce these periods.
Calculation and ceiling: 2026 examples
The calculation uses 40% of average gross earnings over four months. The result cannot exceed 80% of the gross minimum wage. The 2026 gross minimum wage is TRY 33,030, so the monthly gross benefit ceiling is TRY 26,424. Daily gross benefit is monthly gross divided by 30.
Gross earnings in each of the four months | Monthly gross benefit | Stamp tax | Monthly net benefit |
|---|---|---|---|
TRY 33,030 | TRY 13,212.00 | TRY 100.28 | TRY 13,111.72 |
TRY 55,000 | TRY 22,000.00 | TRY 166.98 | TRY 21,833.02 |
TRY 80,000 | TRY 26,424.00 (ceiling) | TRY 200.56 | TRY 26,223.44 |
Each month has 30 days in these examples. Total net benefit is the unrounded daily net amount multiplied by remaining benefit days. Only displayed amounts are rounded to kuruş; manually multiplying the rounded daily figure shown on screen may produce a small difference.
Deductions
The 2026 stamp tax rate is 0.00759 (7.59 per thousand). Monthly gross benefit is multiplied by this rate. Net benefit is gross minus stamp tax. No income tax or SGK (Social Security Institution) contributions are deducted.
Application period
Apply to İŞKUR within 30 calendar days starting the day after termination. For example, termination on 1 January 2026 gives a deadline of 31 January 2026. An application on 5 February is five days late, reducing 180 days to 175 days. If the delay uses up the entire duration, remaining days are zero. İŞKUR decides whether force majeure applies; the tool automatically deducts the delay.
You can apply through an İŞKUR office or electronic channels. Leaving dates blank produces a preliminary estimate assuming no delay; it does not mean the period has been verified.
Frequently asked questions
Can I receive benefits if I resign?
Ordinary resignation does not qualify in this preliminary estimate. Employee termination for justified reasons may be treated differently; select the correct exit reason and verify your records with İŞKUR.
Must contributions be paid for every one of the 120 days?
The criterion is being under an employment contract. Reporting missing days while the contract continues does not by itself mean this condition is lost.
Does a higher salary mean a higher benefit?
It affects the amount up to the ceiling. In 2026, the monthly gross ceiling is TRY 26,424, and the monthly net ceiling in these examples is TRY 26,223.44.
Does the result prove I am eligible?
No. İŞKUR assesses records, the exit reason, the application, and other conditions. Amounts shown in uncertain cases are hypothetical.
